Salmon for dinner tonight, in a sweet vinegar sauce. I love this recipe, and make it every time we buy salmon, even though I have a few other salmon recipes I want to try. In the end, the deliciousness of this recipe is too much for me to resist.
We had the usual hijiki salad, hakusai-ume pickles, multi-grain rice and miso soup. I also made some spinach topped with katsuo-bushi and some gyoza. I made the gyoza from scratch. It wasn't too hard, and I suppose was OK for a first attempt. I put too much shiitake in, however.

The gyoza (potstickers, orginally Chinese). I didn't get them cooked properly at first, and like I said, there was too much shiitake. So the stuffing was a bit off, but I think the next time I make them they'll be OK. I also made the gyoza dipping sauce from scratch; it was super-easy and I thought it was nice.
The spinach topped with katsuo-bushi in a simmered dashi sauce. And just for fun, the miso. Only wakame and green onions in it today. I was lazy. I've been grumpy and in a funk the past few days.
